SOCIAL

INNOVATION

The world is changing quickly due to technology, which is moving towards making society better day by day. The engineering field is at the forefront of technological advancement, developing new machines and algorithms to help in solving social problems like - Medical, Agriculture, Navy, Environment, etc.

We at DRISHTI aim to develop robots that help society to overcome social problems by bringing innovative solutions and robots into the market at our possible level.

DRISHTI's innovative prowess shines through as it clinches a spot among India's top three innovations in 2023, emerging victorious in the prestigious Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2023 competition. Furthermore, the team's exceptional performance secures a commendable 4th place in the GUJCOST Robofest 3.0, showcasing their continued excellence in the field of innovation.

ROVER

ROVER

ROVER, a cutting-edge space exploration vehicle poised to redefine the future of interstellar discovery. Engineered with scientific precision, ROVER is designed to traverse the most daunting and unexplored terrains, unlocking the mysteries of distant planets and assessing the potential for extraterrestrial life.

As dedicated members of the Mars Society, committed to propelling humanity's exploration and eventual settlement of the Red Planet, Team Drishti embarks on a mission to ignite innovation and inspire the next generation of space pioneers through participation in the esteemed Indian Rover Challenge (IRC).

With a proven track record of excellence, including notable achievements such as 4th place in 2018, 8th in 2019, 9th in 2020, 12th in 2023, and 17th in 2024, our team consistently demonstrates our unwavering commitment to pushing the boundaries of possibility in the realm of space exploration. Additionally, at ROBOFEST 3.0, organized by GUJCOST, Team Drishti showcased our ingenuity by participating with two teams and clinching both the first prize and an impressive 4th place consolation.

robocon

ROBOCON

Robocon (Asia Pacific robotic contest) is organised by the Asia Pacific broadcasting union (ABU). A collection of over 20 countries of Asia pacific region participate in the contest. Each year the competition has a different problem statement on the basis of hosting country's culture or global problems. The competition is held in 2 stages - the national stage which decides the team/college that would be representing the country in international competition (final stage) held in last week of August every year.

Team Drishti representing NIT, Surat has been participating in this competition since 2006 and has been setting a higher benchmark for itself, each year in the competition. In Robocon 2018 team Drishti ranked 12th in national stage among 108 teams nationwide.

AI-ML

AI-ML

AI is the study of how to train the computers so that computers can do things which at present human can do better and Machine learning is to learn from data on certain task to maximize the performance of machine on this task. We all fascinate over Iron Man’s J.A.R.V.I.S. (Just A Rather Very Intelligent System) or we wonder at how Siri works. These are nothing but the best examples of Intelligent systems which make use of algorithms of machine learning and natural language processing and computer vision. Since 2016 Team Drishti has been working on projects which mark steps towards getting to know the amazing world of A.I. and computer vision which include hand written digit recognition, stock price prediction, home automation, Music tagging, Maze solver, Automated check-in System,MRI segmentation, A.I. image colorization, cosmic rays classification, Plant Leaf Analyzer Network , Gesture Interpreter for Specially Abled.

CIVIL

CIVIL

When we thought of any technical club, there is a perception that the tech club only deals with robotics and mechanical machines. Still, we in DRISHTI have done numerous projects that explore the current happenings in civil engineering.

On one hand, Projects like earthquake-proof building, green building, and sustainable society planning are helpful and need of the hour for the society, whereas, on the other hand, Projects like bridge designing, tensegrity and geodesic dome, diagrid and truss structures technically explores the modern era of civil engineering. We continuously work on improvement of our projects.

We also look after the problems of society and how we can provide a better solution to overcome that problem.

AERO

AERO

Human pictured about the flying of birds and they started thinking about the thought to fly like them. It was 1903 when wright brothers did their first Flight Test and then aerodynamics became the hot chattered topic. From a car on the road to electricity through windmill everything involves the principles of aerodynamics.

Thus, to stimulate the development in the field of Aerodynamics, here in Drishti we study the aerodynamics and make it applicable in various aspects. We work on development of Different RC planes depending on their applications. We basically design, analyse and manufacture the RC planes. Since the developed technology of the quadcopter is expensive, we are developing our own Flight controller for the Quadcopter which can be further developed for autonomous RC Plane. We have also participated in Boeing Aeromodelling Competition. Considering that Aerodynamics is not only limited to Sky, we also work to develop our own Solid Propellent Rockets.

CHEMICAL

CHEMICAL

Chemical technology helps us study, develop, research and deploy all the statistical, theoretical and experimental facts behind the functioning and processes involved in the system. It ranges from the tasks as big as designing a nuclear reactor to as mini as measuring its surrounding temperature. Everything from nuclear fusion to modifying day to day materials comes under its study.

Team Drishti is also working on many aspects of Chemical Technology for the betterment of society. As the rate of energy consumption is continuously being increased in the recent years, scientists and engineers have to concentrate on developing new energy technologies and thermal management systems. Taking it as a challenge, Team Drishti has worked on Simulation of Heat Pipe for better Heat Transfer and Waste Heat Management in various industrial processes. Along with this, Team Drishti has also participated in the Chemical Engineering Techfest of IIT Bombay namely Azeotropy.
